Turn Off Your Computer (When Done)

July 31st, 2004

AP Wire — When Finished, Turn Off Your Computer
We get this question all the time at the library and it is nice to have a nice concrete answer that I can use with patrons. So the answer is, turn your computer off when not in use. There is no reason to leave it on 24/7 the way some of us were told years ago.

It is definitely a link that will be useful for people who give talks on blogs, since some of the recent papers cover subjects like virtual communities, teaching weblogs, and the clash with journalism. All of these are subjects that I touch on when speaking about blogging.

It’s Ba-ack!

July 28th, 2004

TABOR amendment fate remains uncertain today
TABOR returns in a last-minute effort to get the legislation passed this session. The GOP is pushing the Tax Payer’s Bill of Rights which would place limits on local government spending, hindering growth of public services like libraries.
This final effort has been done in secrecy, and during the Democratic National Convention.
